 Verstappen thinks it makes sense for Ferrari to let Sainz go in 2024

Lewis Hamilton is rumored to join Ferrari from 2025, but for that to happen, Carlos Sainz must make way. Despite Sainz and Charles Leclerc often being closely matched in qualifying and the race, Ferrari has decided to let Sainz go to make room for Hamilton.

Max Verstappen thinks this decision makes sense, stating that as a seven-time champion, Hamilton can afford something more, and it makes sense that one of the drivers has to leave. Verstappen also finds it logical that Sainz was the one to be let go, as the team has worked with Leclerc for a long time and he is happy with his new deal.   

             

Ferrari has decided to let Carlos Sainz go to make room for Lewis Hamilton in 2025. Max Verstappen thinks it's logical for one of the drivers to leave, and it makes sense for Hamilton to replace Sainz. Verstappen understands why Ferrari chose Sainz, and believes it was a reasonable decision.

"It makes sense to me that the team decided to go with Sainz. After working with Charles Leclerc for a long time, I think he would have been a reasonable choice. Leclerc is also happy with his new deal, but unfortunately, that's often how it goes."
